GIGI Studios
"GIGI Studios doesn't follow trends; it interprets them through an artistic lens. It is a brand where family tradition meets a bold contemporary vision, creating glasses that aren't just accessories but statements."
The Transformation: From Heritage to the Avant-Garde
Although GIGI Studios feels distinctly contemporary, its roots run deep. The story begins in Poble Sec, Barcelona, in the 1960s, at the Ramo family's eyewear factory. For decades, optical savoir-faire was passed down from one generation to the next.
The turning point came with the third generation. Patricia Ramo took the reins with a clear vision: to turn the family business into a global benchmark brand. Under her direction, the brand (previously known as Gigi Barcelona) reinvented itself. It kept its obsession with artisanal quality but added a massive dose of creativity, art and fashion, turning GIGI Studios into the international icon it is today.
The Aesthetic: Sculpture and Colour
The GIGI Studios aesthetic is eclectic, sophisticated and always expressive. It draws on art, architecture and global cultural trends, all filtered through Mediterranean light.
The Language of Acetate
GIGI is a master of colour and volume. Its acetate frames (always sourced from the highest quality Italian and Japanese suppliers) are known for their sculptural shapes. They play with thicknesses, bevels and exclusive colour combinations that range from ethereal translucent tones to bold blocks of colour.
Details That Define
Even in its most minimalist metal lines, like the titanium collection, the brand stands out for its subtle details. The design is not only visual, it is tactile. Every pair of glasses goes through more than 100 manual production steps, ensuring a finish that feels luxurious to the touch and comfortable on the face.
