How do I maintain my eye health with contact lenses?
Quick Guide: Essential Contact Lens Care
Daily Hygiene: Key Steps
To keep your eyes healthy and your lenses comfortable, daily cleaning is non-negotiable in order to remove deposits.
1. When you put them in (Morning)
-
Hands: wash and dry them with a lint-free towel.
- Order: always start with your right eye to avoid mixing them up.
- Rinse: rinse the lens with multipurpose solution before putting it in.
- Case: throw away the old solution, rinse the case with fresh solution and let it air dry.
2. When you take them out (Evening)
- Manual cleaning: gently rub the lens in the palm of your hand with solution for 20 seconds.
- Rinse: rinse again to remove any dirt.
- Storage: cover the lens completely with fresh multipurpose solution (about 3/4 of the case).
- Disinfection: let it work for at least 4 hours.
- Maintenance: change the case every 30 days.
Our Pro Tips
- Check-ups: have your eyes checked at least once a year.
-
Expiry: dailies are single-use only. Monthlies should be discarded 30 days after opening, even if you barely wear them.
-
Safety: never use a lens if the packaging is damaged or if the lens is torn.
- Water: avoid contact with tap water, swimming pool water or sea water to prevent infections.
- Make-up: put lenses in before applying make-up; take them out before removing it.
- Environment: take them out if there are harmful fumes around. If it happens, throw them away and rinse your eye with saline solution.
